PIETRASANTA

Pietrasanta, the historical chief-town of Versilia, has an international importance due to the production of marble and bronze, and being the meeting point of sculptors from all over the world. It is characterized by an old town with picturesque shops, restaurants, bars and also many art galleries located near Piazza del Duomo. Among the many monuments you will find here are worthy of note Duomo of San Martino in Romanesque-Gothic style and the Church of Sant'Agostino in Romanesque style with its beautiful bell tower in Baroque style. The cultural centre "Luigi Russo" is also of great importance: its main attractions are the G. Carducci municipal library, the Moroni palace, the Gothic-style Civic Tower, the Teatro Comunale and the Rocchetta Arrighina, next to which we remember Arco di Porta, in Pisa, all adorned by the beautiful background of the Apuan Alps. Moreover, many works of famous artists are displayed in the square to be admired by passers-by.
